Di Mana Kan Kucari Ganti

Assalammualaikum...
hi!
how are you?

this post is dedicated to one of my idol, Allahyarham Tan Sri P.Ramlee...

i watched History Channel today and was touched by his story of success as Malaysian's true entertainer. this is the summarize of the two-hours biography of P.Ramlee.

no one would've expect this lad from Penang with no proper music education background can make it BIG in Asia. he was a successful actor, musician, song-writer, director, in short, entertainer. his films and songs leave big impact on us even after he left us on 29th May 1973...
nobody i know never watched his films or hear his songs.
he is a lagend in Malaysia entertainment industry...

P.Ramlee was borned on 22nd March 1929 in Penang. he got his early education at Sekolah Melayu Kampung Jawa and continued his study at Penang Free School. he learned how to play the violin during Japanese occupation in Malaya. he once won first place in singing competition held by Radio Pulau Pinang in 1947. later, he travelled to Singapore with his friend on the first day of Raya to kicked start his journey as an entertainer. he start from scratch where he worked on the set at Shaw Brothers' production in Jalan Ampas Studio in Singapore. he got his first role in the film, "Chinta" as the villian in 1948. P.Ramlee wrote a total of 390 songs in his lifetime. his first song, "Azizah" was a hit and it was included in his first film as a director and actor, "Penarek Becha".

P.Ramlee was married three times. first is to Junaidah, Norizan and Saloma. his only biological son is Nasir whom he had with Junaidah. others such as Sazali and Dian were his adopted childrens. his career is at top when he was with Norizan. he got inspirations to many of the songs such as "Berkorban Apa Saja" in the movie "Anakku Sazali" which he dedicated to his second wife. however, Saloma is his true soulmate. having waiting for P.Ramlee for so long paid off when they married in 1961. before P.Ramlee was married to Norizan, he had a lover, Mariani who was Singapore's Beauty Queen which happen to be Saloma's sister. they dated few times but Mariani noticed her sister's reaction towards her relationship with P.Ramlee and she calls it quit when she signed a 5-years contract with Shaw Production. P.Ramlee and Mariani didn't spoke to each other for 7 years. she said during the interview that "she can finds another man but nobody can replaced her sister." that's what i called love :')

after many years at Studio Jalan Ampas, there's conflict in the management where many directors and actors were envy of P.Ramlee's success. he then moved to Merdeka Studio in Kuala Lumpur. three years after P.Ramlee left, Studio Jalan Ampas was closed permanently. his downfall as an entertainer was felt after he left Studio Jalan Ampas where he was promised many things he wished for such as to direct a colour movie was not been fulfilled. worse still, he had been booed during his performance in a concert. at that time, the influence of the beatles, bee gees was phenomenal thus, his songs and film was rejected by many. the journalist and media makes it worse by condemned his artwork causing him to suffers in silence. "Laksamana Do Re Mi" was the last film he acted and "Ayer Mata Kuala Lumpur" was his last song. He died on 29th May 1973 leaving a legacy behind.
it is true as he said to Datuk Aziz Satar that he might be dead, but he is going to live for thousand years through his masterpiece.
Al-Fatihah to Allahyarham Tan Sri P.Ramlee...
May Allah bless his soul...
-THE END-
